Room Layout Matters

Because 4-drawer bases have drawers on both sides, you need clearance on both sides of the bed for them to open fully. If one side of your bed sits flush against a wall, the drawers on that side will be inaccessible — in which case, a 2-drawer base with drawers on the accessible side, or an ottoman base that opens from the top, would be more practical.

Measure the gap between the side of the bed and the nearest wall or furniture before ordering. Each drawer extends roughly 40 to 50cm, so you need at least that much clearance on both sides.
